What makes BPC-157 different to source
BPC-157 is the most widely stocked compound in this category, which makes availability meaningless as a filter — essentially every vendor carries it. That abundance is precisely why documentation matters more here than for scarcer compounds: when everyone has it, the only thing distinguishing one vial from another is what the vendor can prove about it.
Its regulatory position is also distinct from the GLP-1 class. BPC-157 has never been FDA-approved, and in 2023 the FDA placed it in the category of substances that raise significant safety concerns for use in compounding — effectively closing the compounding-pharmacy route. There is no approved reference product to benchmark a sample against, so identity testing by mass spectrometry carries more weight than a purity figure alone.

Is BPC-157 FDA approved?
No. BPC-157 has never been approved by the FDA for any use. In 2023 the FDA placed it among substances raising significant safety concerns for use in compounding, which effectively closed the compounding-pharmacy route. It is sold as a research compound for in-vitro laboratory use only and is not a medicine.
Why does the testing lab matter more for BPC-157?
Because there is no FDA-approved reference product, there is no pharmacy-grade benchmark to check a sample against — everything rests on the vendor's own documentation. A named laboratory can be looked up and held accountable; 'third-party tested' with no lab named is a claim that cannot be checked. Identity testing by mass spectrometry also matters more than purity alone, since purity cannot tell you the vial contains BPC-157 rather than something else.
Should I buy BPC-157 blends instead of the single compound?
That depends entirely on your research design, not on vendor quality. Blends such as KLOW or Glow Complex combine BPC-157 with TB-500, GHK-Cu and KPV, which makes it impossible to attribute an observed effect to any single component. For controlled work, single compounds are cleaner. Blends are typically bought for convenience or cost per milligram rather than experimental rigour.
