Small human studies from the late 1970s–1980s; no modern controlled trial and no systematic adverse-event data
Delta sleep-inducing peptide was isolated from rabbit brain in 1977 and studied in humans through the 1980s for insomnia and withdrawal states, in small trials that a 2006 review called inconclusive. None of that work recorded adverse effects systematically, and there has been no controlled trial since. What follows is what the literature contains — which is very little.
