Why Ipamorelin is the Preferred GHRP for Bodybuilding
Ipamorelin is a selective GHRP (growth hormone-releasing peptide) that stimulates GH release via the ghrelin receptor (GHSR-1a) with high selectivity — it does not significantly elevate cortisol or prolactin at standard doses, unlike older GHRPs such as GHRP-6. For bodybuilding applications, Ipamorelin is valued for its clean GH pulse, which supports lean mass, fat oxidation, and recovery without the cortisol-driven side effects that can impair body composition.
Ipamorelin Bodybuilding Dosage Protocols
Bodybuilding protocols use Ipamorelin at 100–300 mcg subcutaneously 2–3× daily — before sleep, upon waking, and pre-workout. It is almost universally stacked with CJC-1295 (without DAC) at 100 mcg per injection to simultaneously stimulate GHRH and ghrelin receptors, producing a synergistic GH pulse 3–5× greater than either peptide alone. Cycles of 8–16 weeks are typical.
Ipamorelin vs GHRP-2 vs GHRP-6 for Bodybuilding
Ipamorelin's evidence base includes human pharmacokinetic studies confirming GH elevation and preclinical data on body composition. No Phase 3 trials in bodybuilding populations exist. Its selectivity profile (no cortisol/prolactin elevation) is confirmed in human Phase 1/2 studies. It is not FDA-approved for body composition use and is classified as a research chemical.
